But it&#39;s in the taste department that it has depth. Worth all that creaming the sugar.....and an excellent cake really to take on a jaunt. Which I suspect is its purpose.<br /><br />I saw the cover of the book it came from. &#39;A New System of Domestic Cookery formed upon Principles of Economy and adapted to the use of Private Families BY A LADY&#39; (1818)&#39;<br /><br />Phew!
